Cancer Walk

A few weeks ago my roommate, Sarah, and I went to the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure 5k. These pictures are all out of order (again) and I"ll just write a blurb for each one.
We saw Space Invader in downtown Miami!

"This is the place."

The route took us right by Chop House Miami, which has been featured about fifty times on Food Network. I really want to eat there at some point.

Little cheerleading squad at the 0.1 mile mark? Sure.

We got started a little late so people were hanging around the starting line.

The finish line! Not us finishing, just the people who were there to actually time themselves.

Before the race, 20,000 people wandered around to the booths that were sponsored by different companies. Chiquita was giving away bananas. This is only a portion of one of their tables.

Ronald McDonald. Sarah and I agree that his make up looks fine in the picture, but he looked like he had a blind drag queen do it for him.

Their table had TONS of apple slices. Literally. (The expiration date was two days from the race date. I think they were trying to move stock.)

A quick view of how crowded it was.

The unofficial mascot of the race. This dude refused to talk and walked around hugging people awkwardly.  The whole ting was strange and we were glad to have him stop touching us.

It started really early in the morning so this is a view of the water from near Bayfront Park. The building on the right is American Airlines Arena, where the Heat play.

Downtown Miami in the morning.

The types of vehicles that are on the road as early as we were. Frightening.

We couldn't find the $3 parking that was supposed to exist and we only had $9 in cash between us and could only use this creepy lot. It was gated and locked when we came back to the car. Luckily we got out.

Creepy parking lot again.

Museum downtown.

All ages can come and have fun! This will be me. Cancer walks until I can't walk anymore.

Sweet view from the race route.
